The short version

  • Your gift plans are stored in your Presently account so they sync and can be shared with people you invite.
  • No ads, no selling your data, no tracking across other apps.
  • You can delete your account and its data from Settings in the app.

Who makes Presently

Presently is a gift-planning app for iPhone, published by Joshua Huffman (“I”, “me”). This policy explains what information Presently collects, why, who can see it, and how to delete it.

Your account

To use Presently you create an account with your name, email address and a password, or sign in with a one-time link sent to your email. Your sign-in session is stored in your iPhone’s Keychain.

You can also add a profile photo, your birthday, clothing sizes and interests to your own profile.

What you put into Presently

Presently stores what you enter so it can sync and be shared with the people you choose:

  • People you shop for: name, relationship, birthday, sizes, interests, notes and budget. Some of this is about other people, so please only add what you are comfortable keeping in an app.
  • Events: title, date, recurrence, reminder timing, budget, and who it is for
  • Gifts: name, description, link, estimated and paid price, store, notes, tags, status, and who has claimed it
  • Your wishlist: items, links, prices, priority and who can see each item
  • Households and friends: household name and members, invite codes, friend codes and friend requests, including the email address of anyone you invite

Notification preferences, theme, currency and similar settings are stored only on your iPhone.

Who can see your information

  • Household members you invite see the people, events and gifts in that household, and the name, email, photo, birthday, sizes and interests on each member’s profile. You can mark a gift “hide from spouse” or private.
  • Friends you add see your name, email, photo, birthday, sizes and interests, and the wishlist items you’ve made visible to them. Anyone who knows your email address can send you a friend request; nothing is shared until you accept.
  • Wishlist share links let anyone with the link view the wishlist inside the Presently app. You choose whether prices, priorities and descriptions show.
  • Your profile photo is stored at a web address that is not secret, so anyone who has that address can view the photo.

Services that handle your data

I use a small number of service providers to run Presently. They process data on my behalf and only for these purposes:

  • Supabase hosts the database, sign-in and file storage. Your account and everything you enter is stored with Supabase and encrypted in transit and at rest. Supabase privacy policy.
  • RevenueCat manages Presently Pro subscriptions. It receives your Presently user ID, App Store purchase information, and basic device details such as model, iOS version and IP address. RevenueCat privacy policy.
  • Resend sends household invitation emails. It receives the invitee’s email address and the invitation message. Resend privacy policy.
  • Apple processes payments through the App Store and delivers notifications. Apple doesn’t share your payment details with me.

The app includes Google Firebase libraries for crash reporting and analytics, but they are switched off in the current version and send nothing. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.

Notifications

Gift and event reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. You can change which reminders you get in Presently’s Settings, or turn notifications off in the iOS Settings app.

Camera and photos

If you choose to take or pick a profile photo, Presently asks for access to the camera or your photo library. Only the photo you pick is used. It is resized and uploaded as your profile photo.

What Presently doesn’t do

  • No advertising
  • No selling or renting your information
  • No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites
  • No access to your contacts or location

Children

Presently is not directed to children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email me and I’ll delete it.

Keeping and deleting your information

Your information is kept while you have an account. To delete your account, open Settings › Delete Account in the app. This deletes your sign-in, your profile, your wishlist, your friends, households you own and everything in them, and your memberships in other households.

Gifts or people you added to a household that someone else owns stay with that household, without your name attached. To have your profile photo file removed from storage, or your subscription records removed from RevenueCat, email me and I’ll take care of it.

You can export your people, events and gifts as a file from Settings › Data at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to how it is used. Email me and I’ll help. I won’t treat you differently for asking.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update the date at the top and post the new version here. For significant changes I’ll also tell you in the app.
